CEREAL QUANTITATIVE GENETICIST

in more than 50 countries.
RAGT 2n, a research subsidiary of RAGT Semences, a major player in seeds selection, is recruiting
within its Statistical Genetics Unit a Statistician/Quantitative Geneticist m/f, at its cereal research
centre in Ickleton close to Cambridge.
Your tasks :

Responsible for supporting our breeding programs with statistical analyses and expertise with a focus on line and hybrid wheat.

Conduction of marker-assisted/genomic selection projects, mixed model analyses, diversity
analyses, and GWAS.

Support the improvement of breeding schemes by investigating current breeding programs,
conducting simulation studies, and supporting breeding scheme changes in interaction with
breeders and other colleagues.

Strongly contribute to the improvement and development of tools and analyses pipelines

Work on the integration of new data sources for the improvement of breeding processes by testing
and comparing different statistical models and algorithms.
Your profile :
-
Ph.D., master, or engineer degree in statistics, quantitative genetics, plant or animal breeding, agricultural science, or related field with an analytical focus.

Very good programming skills with good knowledge of R scientific software and ability to manage large data analyses.

Experience in genetics and plant breeding is a plus.

Fluent in English.

Occasional travel to France.

Accurate, analytical mind, synthetic, critical thinking , open minded, people skills and organisational skills.
