PATHOLOGY FIELD TECHNICIAN
WE ARE LOOKING TO FILL A NEW VACANCY IN OUR WHEAT PATHOLOGY TEAM TO IMPLEMENT EXPERIMENTAL PROGRAMME TO ACHIEVE RESISTANCE TO KEY DISEASES AND ABIOTIC STRESSES FOR THE EUROPEAN CEREAL BREEDERS.
Responsibilities: Design, prepare, sow and harvest experiments both in the field and glasshouse. Score for disease and other phenotypes, producing data and summarising results. Organise elements of research and crossing programmes. Manage Ickleton seed store and shared seed collections.
Post requires: Flexibility, positive attitude, willingness to learn, attention to detail, ability to prioritise and organise.
Position: Would suit an individual with a Level 4/Level 5 qualification: HNC/HND/NVQ or equivalent and/or relevant practical experience. Full training will be provided.
The position is at our Ickleton site and is a permanent, full-time position with weekend work and overtime required at seasonal peaks of the year.
